Galopp-Europe is looking forward to Düsseldorf next Sunday. The classic Horn & Company 105th German 1000 Guineas (Gr. 2, €125,000, 1600m), one of the five most important breeding races in Germany, will take place at the racecourse in the state capital. The Düsseldorfer Reiter- und Rennverein is delighted about two international late entries. Nine three-year-old mares from England, France and Germany will compete against each other in the main event of this special anniversary race day. The event has been held under the patronage of the Königsallee interest group for 10 years.

In the Horn & Company 105th German 1000 Guineas (6th race, 4.15 pm), there is not only prize money of 125,000 euros awaiting the participants. In addition to her share of 70,000 euros, the winner will also take home a wildcard for the British “Falmouth Stakes” (Gr. 1) and an opportunity to start in the Coronation Stakes (Gr. 1) during Royal Ascot. The fact that horses from England, France and Germany are traveling to the state capital underlines the international appeal of the Düsseldorf Classic.

has. This year, British trainer David Loughnane is also following suit with Anshoda, who was re-named for €12,500. Following her victory at Group 3 level at Goodwood in England last year, she took part in the American Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Gr. 1) in November. The French filly D'Ores Et Deja, who has already won the Henkel-Stutenpreis in the state capital this year, was also nominated. Trainer Fabrice Chappet has once again booked the German jockey René Piechulek. On paper, however, the Kingman-daughter Flaming Stone appears to be the horse to beat after her third place in the Prix Saint Alary, Gr. 2. She will be competing in the world-famous colors of Juddmonte Farms. Other guest horses traveling to the Grafenberg include the runner-up from last year's Ratibor race Place Fontenoy for Nicolas Clement and another Englishwoman Ellaria Sand for trainer Ollie Sangster.

The German hopes rest primarily on Gestüt Park Wiedingen's Santagada with Leon Wolff, who recently won the prestigious Schwarzgold-Rennen in Cologne. Gestüt Brümmerhof and trainer Andreas Suborics are offering the mare Quebec this year. We are also hearing good things about Pershing, who recently made a big impression in the Persil-Rennen and therefore knows the track. Trainer Andreas Wöhler is regarded as a real 1000 Guineas specialist. He has won the Düsseldorf classic no less than five times. This time he will be competing with Lady Ilze for Westminster Racing.

Attractive betting opportunities

For bettors, the Horn & Company 105th German 1000 Guineas offers a premium trifecta with a guaranteed payout of €10,000. This requires betting on the first three horses in the correct order. The 8th race of the day offers another highlight for betting enthusiasts. In the “Prize of IG Königsallee - 10 Years of Königsallee Race Day”, the difficulty increases once again. Here, the first four out of 15 starters need to be predicted in order to collect the €10,000 guarantee.

Who will jump on the Derby bandwagon?

In the Listed race MERKUR SPIELBANKEN Derby Trial over 2200m, the second highlight of the day with a purse of €25,000 (4th race, 3.05 p.m.), further candidates for the German Derby on July 6 in Hamburg-Horn are being sought. As a local hero, Waldnebel, competing for Albrecht Woeste's Grafenberg stable, will be the main focus of attention. Stall Bergholz's Delgardo, who could take on the role of favorite, is the horse to beat. However, Gestüt Park Wiedingens' Quinto is also likely to be a sharp horse. The following stallion Name Lord from Gestüt Wittekindshof should be able to cope with the required distance in Düsseldorf.

Barbara Frères Mini Cup

A new addition to the sporting program is the Barbara Frères Mini Cup, a show race for mini trotters. These are ponies up to 107 cm tall in front of the sulky. They are driven by children between the ages of 6 and 16. The Gelsentrab Mini Trotters show team has set itself the task of making the sport of mini trotting better known and getting more children interested in this sport. This time they will be supported by Barbara Frères Kindermoden.

10 years of Königsallee Race Day with anniversary competition

The Königsallee interest group, which brings together around 100 companies, is a partner of the race day. Chairman Peter Wienen remembers well how this special race day came about: twelve years ago, he met Peter Michael Endres, then President of the riding and racing club, by chance during his Christmas vacation. “We had the idea for this race day in the evening by the fireplace.” He had been looking for a special event for IG Kö for some time. The beauty of the racecourse and the friendliness of the members of the racing club convinced him completely. The Königsallee Race Day has established itself as a social event, with Düsseldorf celebrities and representatives from the worlds of politics and business attending every year alongside the greats of international horse racing.

Visitors can find inspiration for their race day outfits in the mobile shop windows, which this year will be stocked by Düsseldorf red carpet label Rita Lagune and Dutch hat designer Berry Rutjes. Design star Berry Rutjes also makes the hats worn by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and runs the Dutch Hat Academy. And visitors can also take part in the program on this anniversary race day. A genuine Berry Rutjes fascinator worth €590 will be the main prize for visitors in the anniversary competition. A photo box will be used to create an anniversary collage from visitors' photos, which will be shown on the big screen at the end of the race day. The partners of the race day and IG Königsallee will raffle off the glamorous prizes among all participants - it's worth taking part!

Torquator Tasso Lounge fully booked - standing room and grandstand tickets available

Tickets are available both at the box office and in the online store. The Torquator Tasso Lounge is already fully booked. Seating tickets (adults €18, children €9) are still available for the main stand. Standing tickets regularly cost €14. Children under the age of 14 are admitted to the grounds free of charge, but require a free children's ticket. To avoid queues, it is strongly recommended to buy online, which will also be rewarded with a free program booklet worth €3.
