The focus was on the Grand Prix of the Hannoversche Volksbank - Standing Cup, a Listed race with prize money of 25,000 euros over the long distance of 3,000 metres. A familiar mare prevailed once again: Nastaria, who won this competition two years ago, showed her six opponents the hooves again this time. The mare, trained on the Baltic Sea by Anna Schleusner-Fruhriep, took the lead on the home straight from Padre Palou, who had been in front for a long time, but did not give up without a fight. The favoured Waldadler tried to find a gap between the two - in vain.

Two of Germany's longest-serving jockeys battled it out at the front: 54-year-old Jozef Bojko, who works at the Neue Bult, and 55-year-old Dutchman Adrie de Vries. ‘I'm delighted like crazy,’ said the winning trainer after the race. ‘Nastaria proved it once again: her distance, her track.’

Adrie de Vries has already dominated the first two days of the season at the Neue Bult with several victories. He was also successful twice this Monday. Eduardo Pedroza and Martin Seidl as well as the trainers Andreas Wöhler and Waldemar Hickst also achieved two victories.

Adio, trained by Bohumil Nedorostektrained Adio, ensured an acclaimed home victory in the Preis der Genossenschaftlichen FinanzGruppe, clearly outrunning his ten opponents on the home straight. Stable jockey David Liska was in the saddle. Adio runs in the colours of the traditional Club Neue Bult e. V., founded in 1975, and trainer Nedorostek immediately followed suit: He also won the final test - with Night Star under Corentin Berge, another jockey working at the Neue Bult.

A total of 318,530.82 euros was realised in the ten races.

The action continues on Friday, 20 June from 3.30 pm. Visitors to the construction industry's after-work race day can look forward to exciting races - including a level I, the ‘Bundesliga’ of horse racing.

Tickets are available online for 12 euros. Children up to the age of 12 are admitted free of charge. Further information and access to the ticket shop can be found on our website.
