400th £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus Won By Daytona
£9,370,000 In Prize Money Paid Out To Owners
The £25,000 Tattersalls October Book 1 Bonus reached a significant milestone on Sunday with the 400th bonus won in style by the Aidan O'Brien trained DAYTONA at Gowran Park with an impressive two and a half length victory on debut.
The bonus was the 41st won by Aidan O'Brien, more than any other trainer, and took the total Book 1 Bonus prize money paid out to owners by Tattersalls to £9,370,000.

Owned by Tabor, Smith, Magnier, Westerberg & Brant, the WOOTTON BASSETT colt was purchased by MV Magnier & White Birch Farm from New England Stud for 500,000 guineas at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
The 400th Book 1 Bonus was followed swiftly by the 401st with GESAYED striking later on Sunday afternoon for Karl Burke and Mohamed Saeed Al Shehhi on debut at Hamilton. Purchased by Federico Barberini for 80,000 guineas, it was the second bonus for her owner this season following smart filly MEELAF, a 105,000 guineas purchase who was fourth in the Group 3 Prix du Bois on Sunday.
Of the 401 Book 1 Bonus winners to date, 192 have been purchased for 150,000 guineas or less and the total bonus prize money paid out to owners by Tattersalls now stands at over £10,000,000.
All horses catalogued in Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale are eligible for the lucrative scheme with over 300 qualifying races, and this year's sale will take place from 7th – 9th October with entries now open.
